The 'Indian Photo Festival' PORTRAIT PRIZE 2020 is a portrait competition open to the photographers from the Indian subcontinent. Photographers have been making portraits for centuries and what's so interesting about portraiture is its ability to capture the essence of a person, a time-period, or a culture. This award aims at discovering the compelling portraits and extra-ordinary talents.

Manoj Jadhav
Photographer & Visual artist
Manoj Jadhav is a photographer and a visual expression artist based in Mumbai, India whose work focuses on intimate portraiture, imagery with classic, romantic visual language. His photographs occupy a realm between the past and present, resulting in a creation that feels vintage at once yet progressive and familiar.
​
A passionate chronicler of Analog Photography and Alternative photographic practices, this alumnus from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai globe trots round the world with his work assignments and visual arts projects. 25 years strong in his professional life, wearing his middle years graciously, he claims to be of no fixed address – London, Dubai, Singapore, Milan, Mumbai all home for him where he has lived and worked since earlier days of his career - still moving, a professional gypsy whose work has taken him to the most exciting assignments and across some of the most coveted brands. Having worked with iconic American photographer Mary Ellen Mark on the World Heritage Project in India in 2006, he was also chosen by Luerzer's Archive, Vienna consecutively for two years in the 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide listing.

Credentials that have been recognised by the International Lomography Federation and also being nominated to be the Impossible Artist for India by Impossible Project in 2014. He had his first photography solo exhibit in 2004 in Mumbai, Titled - Ten Women.
​
Since then, he has participated in many Indian and International Photographic exhibitions and Festivals. His work was displayed at Saatchi art gallery - London, Art Limited - France, Impossible Project, Austria and several other events and galleries across Europe. He was part of Hope for Haiti-India Cares - charity art auction 2010, Mind Pixels - NGMA Mumbai 2015, Goa international Photofest 2014 & 1016, Serendipity Arts Fest, Goa 2016, 2017 and showcasing at many more such upcoming events in near future.

Besides ongoing commercial work, he is also working on his next solo exhibit based on his first photography book about Stories of Indian Women. His fine art images and prints are favoured and brought by many art lovers and private collectors from india and the world over.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
This is an Agreement between the Applicant and Light Craft Foundation. By submitting an image applicants agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

The 'Indian Photo Festival' Portrait Prize is open to any, 18 years of age or older, from the Indian subcontinent.

The entry should be appropriate with the category of portrait; you can also submit group portraits and self-portraits.

Digital files must be no longer than 2000 Pixels in either height or width and saved as Jpeg (.jpg), in RGB format and not exceed 4 MB per file, at 150dpi.

No identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.

Only one entry per applicant and the last date for submission is Nov 1st 2020.

The copyrights of the images remains with the photographer. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competition may be used for publicity and promotional purposes in any media related to the competition, at no charge; the photographer will be credited for the use of their work.

The entrant must be the sole author of the photograph and the photograph must be an original work and the entrant is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the rights of persons depicted, including but not limited to obtaining their permission. Also the entrant should be responsible for any legal issues related to the entries submitted and agree to pay any costs occurred due to the same.

The results will be announced during the opening of the Indian Photo Festival - HYDERABAD on Nov 12th 2020 @ 7:00 PM.

The finalists and the winners will be exhibited during the Indian Photo Festival - HYDERABAD from 12th Nov - Dec 13th 2020 and may tour different cities in India and overseas and by submitting an entry, you are agreeing to have prints of your photographs shown in these exhibitions at no charge.

Winners are responsible for the payment of any taxes or fees levied on the prizes. The vouchers must be used in iiirdi digital website for buying only Zeiss lens & Fuji Film mirrorless cameras.
