This panel explores how the visual medium plays a critical role in researching, preserving, and archiving rural art and cultural memory. Featuring filmmaker Jennifer Alphonsse (Nagoba Jathara: The Tribal Carnival) and Geetha Bhatt and Smitha Tumuluru, co-authors of Deevara Chittara, the discussion highlights how visual storytelling can safeguard indigenous knowledge, amplify community voices, and create lasting records of living traditions. The session will be moderated by Bhavana Kadambari, a creative consultant and strategist.

Jennifer Alphonse is an Indian filmmaker, visual storyteller, and author known for her distinctive cinematic style and deeply human narratives, with work spanning commercials, short films, documentaries, and award-winning international projects.
