Join Newsha Tavakolian, acclaimed Magnum photographer, for an intensive two-day workshop at the Indian Photo Festival 2025. Designed for emerging and professional photographers, this workshop will challenge participants to reflect deeply on their practice, push their artistic boundaries, and explore new ways to tell their stories visually.

Over the course of the two days, Newsha will guide students through discussions aimed at strengthening narrative skills, developing a distinctive visual voice, and experimenting with creative approaches to photography. Participants will be encouraged to share their ongoing projects, receive constructive feedback, and refine their ideas in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Whether you are working on a personal project, a long-term story, or simply looking to expand your creative perspective, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the leading documentary photographers of our time.

About Newsha Tavakolian

Newsha Tavakolian, a Magnum Photos member, is a photographer, visual artist, and educator known for her work that captures the human condition. Tavakolian began her career in photography at a young age, eventually becoming a prominent figure in the field. Her photography is characterized by its evocative storytelling and her keen eye for capturing the delicate emotions that shape us as humans. She has covered a wide range of topics, from the challenges faced by women in Iran and worldwide, to the aftermath of tensions in conflict zones. Her work often combines artistry with documentary, blurring the lines between reality and the imagined. Throughout her career, Newsha Tavakolian has received numerous awards, and several international photo prizes. Her photographs have been featured in prestigious exhibitions worldwide.
