This is an Agreement between the Applicant and Light Craft Foundation. By submitting an image, applicants agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Eligibility & Entry

• The Indian Photo Festival Portrait Prize is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, from the Indian subcontinent (India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives).

• The entry should be appropriate to the category of portrait; group portraits and self-portraits may also be submitted.

• Digital files must be no larger than 2000 pixels in either height or width, saved as JPEG (.jpg), in RGB format, not exceeding 4MB per file, at 150 DPI.

• No identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.

• Minor adjustments such as colour correction, contrast, brightness, and exposure correction are permitted. Digitally manipulated images, including compositing, object addition or removal, and AI generated or AI altered images, are not allowed. Light Craft Foundation reserves the right to request original, unedited RAW or source files to verify compliance.

• Only five entries per applicant are allowed. The last date for submission is October 25th, 2026, 11:59 PM IST.

• An entry fee of INR 499 applies for each image.

Formation of Agreement

• Submission of an entry constitutes an application only and does not create any binding agreement between the Applicant and Light Craft Foundation.

• Light Craft Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or amend any selection at any time.

 

Copyright, Use, and Subject Rights

• Copyright of the images remains with the photographer at all times.

• All entrants understand that any image submitted may be used for publicity and promotional purposes in any media related to the competition, at no charge; the photographer will be credited for the use of their work.

• The entrant must be the sole author of the photograph, and the photograph must be an original work. The entrant is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the rights of persons depicted, including but not limited to obtaining their permission, and Light Craft Foundation may request evidence of such consent for identifiable subjects.

• The entrant is responsible for any legal issues related to the entries submitted and agrees to indemnify Light Craft Foundation against any costs, claims, or liabilities arising from the content of the submitted image, including claims by third parties depicted in the work.

 

Results, Exhibition, and Touring

• The results will be announced during the opening of the Indian Photo Festival, Hyderabad, on Thursday, 26th November 2026.

• Finalists and winners will be exhibited during the Indian Photo Festival, Hyderabad, from 26 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, and selected work may tour different cities in India and overseas. By submitting an entry, the Applicant agrees to have prints of their photographs shown in these exhibitions and any subsequent touring exhibitions, at no charge. Inclusion in any specific edition, venue, or touring leg is at the discretion of Light Craft Foundation and is not guaranteed by selection alone.

• Winners residing outside India are responsible for any taxes, duties, or customs charges applicable to accessories included in their prize.

 

Festival's Reserved Rights

• Light Craft Foundation reserves the right to suspend, postpone, or amend the competition.

• Light Craft Foundation reserves the right to exclude entries and withhold or withdraw selection for violating any of its terms and conditions, or where the Foundation reasonably determines that circumstances relating to the entrant could bring the Festival, its partners, or participants into disrepute.

• Light Craft Foundation reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at any stage, including after selection and before or during exhibition, to withdraw, exclude, or decline to exhibit any entry, whether or not previously selected, where it determines this is necessary to protect the safety, reputation, operational continuity, or integrity of the Festival, its partners, or participants. Such a decision does not constitute a finding regarding the artistic merit of the entry, and does not entitle the Applicant to compensation beyond any entry fee paid, except at the sole discretion of Light Craft Foundation.

 

Confidentiality

• Both parties agree to treat correspondence relating specifically to selection decisions and any subsequent changes to selection status as confidential, and not to publish or disclose such correspondence to third parties, save where required by law or where necessary to seek legal advice.

 

Refunds

• The entry fee for the Award is not refundable.

 

Governing Law & Disputes

• This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from or relating to this Agreement or the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana. Both parties agree to attempt resolution through good faith discussion before initiating formal proceedings.
