2 day Zine Making Workshop by Kishor Krishnamoorthi (Publisher of Concorde Zine)

Overview

 

The Zine has risen over the past few years as a strong tool for showcasing work in the print format. In a compact and handy size, it allows the creator to mix different mediums to express themselves. In this workshop, we will go through the process of making your own Zine with content created by you, using a mix of photographs, illustrations, and text, depending upon your experience.

Day One - Nov 27th


MORNING SESSION
Introduction session to zine
Using the zine as a storytelling tool
Building a narrative for the print format
Picking topics for zines

AFTERNOON/EVENING SESSION 
Photowalk

Day Two - Nov 28th


MORNING SESSION
Photowalk in the city with Kishor

AFTERNOON SESSION
Review & shortlist images from photowalks
Discuss design options and content flow
Build a layout for the zine
Print the zines

28 Nov Tuesday / 10 am - 12 pm & 1 pm - 3 pm (IST)

*This workshop is for people who are already comfortable using their cameras and want to explore storytelling and bookmaking.

T&C:-

  • Requirements - DSLR/Camera + knowledge of all technical aspects of photography

  • The workshop won't be teaching technical aspects (like aperture/ISO/shutter speed) in this workshop.  

  • All participants will be given a copy of the Zine created during the workshop.

  • IPF reserves the right to cancel any workshop up to one week prior to the start date if the workshop is under-enrolled, in which case a full refund will be issued. 

  • A minimum of 8 students are required to run this workshop.
